Well, I came to this book when I was looking for a Project Management Tool inside Joomla. It is because, I am working on a project where clients handles several persons (developers, researchers etc.) and he wants to manage the tasks himself that he assigned to others. Being familiar with Joomla, it is comfortable for him to get something inside Joomla.
While searching for an easy manual for him, I somehow found this book. When I got this book, I found exactly what I wanted in its 7th Chapter where it discussed about ProjectFork. I found that it is clearly and easily described how to configure & us Projectfork. Moreover, sufficient number of images/screenshots have been included on every sections. Sometimes images talk much than texts.
Now I can recommend the same book to Project Owner so that he can take help from it too. I am sure, it will be quite easy for him to use ProjectFork following this book.
I have read few other chapters (for example: chapter about Docman as it will also be needed in this project) and I am amazed to see its lucid descriptions. In every section, there are sufficient screenshots that will greatly help the newbies, the book is mainly intended to. Overall it contains more than 80 recipes of doing something with Joomla. The interesting part is that, you don’t need any programming skills for following these. Little familiarity with Joomla will be sufficient to follow the guidelines. However, the numerous screenshots are included which will make the reading comfortable.
The reader of this book will learn the following things (copied from original site): Continue reading →
I am working on an WordPress autobloggin plugin where I had to search yahoo answers site for any keyword and post the answers in WordPress. After checking their site, I see it is very easy now as they provide API for the questions and answers. I do not know when they introduced API for Answers but I do remember during my last check (quite long time ago), they did not have any API and scrapping was the only way.
Their API for searching and getting answers is very simple and easiest! However, for the better handling of my project, I have mad a class to find questions by any given keyword and then retrieve the answers of any specific question by question ID.
How to use?

- Upgrading Ubuntu to Maverick Meerkat
Wow new Ubuntu, as said on the site perfect Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) is now out :D. I could not resist myself from upgrading to it even I am using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx on Macbook Pro 7.1. I am upgrading specially to know whether it also works fine on Macbook.
Upgrading Ubuntu is always easy and fun. All you know that. However, if there are someone who does not know it, here it is. Just run the following command from terminal when you are online:
sudo update-manager -d
Then it should automatically detect that a new version is available. Just click on Upgrade button (show on the image above) when it appears. Follow instructions on screen and then sit relax while it is upgrading for you. However, carefully notice the alert (before main phase starts) it provides which includes the packages are going not to be supported anymore, packages that are going to be deleted etc.
Enjoy and pray for me so that it works fine on Macbook :P. I will write detail experience with it later.
If you come to this post, it is highly possible that yo are already annoyed by the Trash feature of WordPress that was introduced in its version 2.9.
I personally find it very helpful in live sites but I believe no one than me is annoyed most by it on development site. However, WordPress is always sweet and its programmers has longer nose. So they put a configurable option to adjust it.
All you need is to add a line in wp-config.php file. You will need to add a constant like:
That’s it. The trash button from your WordPress will just elope and your old loving Delete button will come back:).
One more thing, by default WordPress keeps stuffs in trash for 30 days. So if you want to keep the posts in Trash for 3 days, write like:
When I started studying on SEO, I came to learn twitter does not have a good link building/back link value as it adds nofollow to all links! So, I was not concentrating on it! However, suddenly I found a site where I can get followers and experiment a few things. I have to earn points by following others and in exchange of those points, I will get followers! I did not have much time to do that! So, I purchased their paid membership for 7 days! In seven days I got more than 700 followers and still counting! Continue reading →
I never thought a flash game is so popular online! Recently while doing some traffic related study I found a site which receives 60% of its search engine traffic to only one game named Swords and Sandals ! There are most than one versions of Swords and Sandals! Most interesting is that only version 2 that means Swords and Sandals 2 receives about 80% among previous 60%. I tried to play it for a while and I found it is interesting!

WordPress provides some nice APIs for executing unattended scheduled tasks without relying on any external cron! Usually, we need to create a cron from our control panel / systems! However, if you implement built in cron features of WordPress, you gain better portability of your WordPress site!
However, it has a great limitation! This cron fully relies on site hits! WordPress triggers its cron functions after someone visits the site! When anyone visits your site, WP checks if any cron are supposed to be executed on or earlier of that moment! If no one visits your site, WordPress will fail to execute your tasks!
In this blog, I am going to show two tips that may be helpful while you work with wp-cron functions!

Facebook like button is a component of its social plugins. It is a great tool of driving traffic to your site. Mashable has a report of increasing referral traffics by 50% by using this Like button.
Considering it as a good tool to drive traffic, I have developed a tiny extension for PunBB bulletin board. When you install this extension, you will find a Like button at the top of Topic View (viewtopic.php). It will also show number of persons liked the topic. Continue reading →
I have updated the DNS but still I am getting the site from old server. Is this your problem?
This occurs due to propagation time. When you update the DNS it needs up to 72 hours to populate on internet. All ISP uses DNS caching to cache the DNS query results. So, it needs some time to refresh the cache to reflect your changes.
But in your computer you can solve it easily. You can override the cache. Just follow the steps:
domain = ‘binodon4all.com’
new server’s ip = 126.96.36.199
- Open the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file using notepad
- Write the following line at the end of the file:
- Save the file
- Open command prompt. Type
- Open your browser. Now browse binodon4all.com. You should get site from new server
For Linux & Mac OS:
- Login as root
- Open /etc/hosts file typing the following command
- If you find vi command difficult use:
- At the end of the file add the same line as previous:
- Save the file. Restart your network by:
service network restart
- Try browsing binodon4all.com. You should get site from new server.
